2019 Mark Scheifele Golf Classic in support of KidSport Winnipeg presented by North Haven Resort

June 5, 2019 – Winnipeg, MB – KidSport Winnipeg and Mark Scheifele, Winnipeg Jets forward and KidSport Winnipeg Athlete Ambassador, are pleased to announce the 2019 Mark Scheifele Golf Classic will take place Friday, June 21 at Elmhurst Country Club.

“It’s always exciting when the tournament approaches as every year gets better, and it’s something I really look forward to,” said Scheifele. “It’s such a fun day and with the support of North Haven Resort and all the athletes, golfers, and sponsors who so enthusiastically and generously get behind the tournament, we are able to help so many kids play the sport they love. That’s something really close to my heart and I’m grateful to all those involved. It’s a whole community coming together to support kids, which is something we can all be proud of.”

The golf classic is in support of KidSport Winnipeg, with all proceeds going toward paying the registration fees for kids from financially disadvantaged families so they can participate in sports.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of this golf tournament in support of KidSport Winnipeg,” said Ryan Smith, GM of North Haven Resort. “It is important to get kids active, whether it be on a rink, a court, a field or even a lake. Children should have access to sports programs regardless of financial means, ability level or physical limitations. We are extremely proud to support Mark and his tremendous dedication to eliminating barriers so that all kids can participate in sports.”
